Notes on a Scandal

UK Release: 2nd February 2007
Watched on TV: Monday 14th March 2011
Rating: 15
Runtime: 1hr 32mins
Tagline: One Woman's Mistake Is Another's Opportunity...
IMDb Plot Summary: A veteran high school teacher befriends a younger art teacher, who is having an affair with one of her 15-year-old students. However, her intentions with this new "friend" also go well beyond platonic friendship.
A Quick Review: I didn’t have a clue what to expect, but Notes on a Scandal surprised me as being completely addictive and genuinely emotional. Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett gel really well together - you can’t take your eyes off them.
It is quite dark and odd in places and Blanchett’s character gets quite pathetic half way through to the point of ridiculousness, but it remains enjoyable, with Dench carrying it through.
Gripping and compelling, I would however, recommend every twisted scene of it.
Score: 7.5/10
