May 2013 Top 20: Part 2

Welcome back to this month's Top 20! As I said in Part 1, it's been incredibly hard to narrow it down, and I would say the no.s 1 and 2 are both equally worthy of the top spot! 
If you can only watch one video though I would recommend HAIM as they are definitely my favourite band of the year so far and I love their video for 'Forever' - it has such a modern yet nostalgic feel to it and the dynamic between the 3 sisters is excellent! Enjoy...

I swear this song is getting catchier and catchier! I love the groove of this song and it has a great old-school vibe that you just can't help but nod your head along to. It may be pretty different to Daft Punk's older stuff but it still has the same effect of getting firmly stuck in your head!

Calvin Harris made history today as he became the first artist to have 8 Top 10 hits from one album! I've been a fan of Calvin Harris ever since the days of 'Acceptable in the 80s' and 'The Girls' about 6 years ago and I've loved seeing him go from strength to strength. He just can't go wrong: every single one of his tracks is a hit with me and his latest one is no exception! Ellie Goulding adds a different tone from his usual style and it is certainly going to be sticking around for a while longer!
And the video is fantastic...

I've got into a lot of rap music at the moment so there's a lot of that in my top 10 as well as some what of a guilty pleasure at number 2 which I've had on repeat blasting in my car! I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here on Enthralled but for the past few months I've been addicted to lots of new TV shows, most prominent of which is One Tree Hill. I'm currently on season 6 and it's definitely become one of my all-time favourites - I can't get enough of it! Today's Tune of the Day is of a song featured on the show that has reminded me how much I loved it back in the day! It's definitely one of those ballads you can't help but belt along with!

Fall Out Boy Return!

Confession time: I was a huge Fall Out Boy fan throughout my teens and I still cite Infinity on High as one of my favourite albums. Over the past couple of weeks I've been getting nostalgic and playing it constantly and so it was with much shock and excitement that I heard today the announcement that Fall Out Boy were releasing a new album (Save Rock And Roll, to be released on the 6th of May) and are heading on tour! Quite a coincidence or what! 
The tour dates are mainly in the US so far, however they are also set to play Reading and Leeds over here so I might have to investigate that! 
I can't wait to hear all their new stuff but so far I've been quite impressed with the new single, old-school-long-title-style "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)". Have a listen below...

I was absolutely OBSESSED with this song a couple weeks back and is still a big one for me. I'm foregoing doing an official top 20 for January as I've only just done the 2012 round up. But if I had then this would almost certainly made the number one spot with only Kendrick Lamar's Backseat Freestyle being the other contender to be honest! I've had a bit of a hip hop/ rap month to be honest!
