Tagline: Freshman year is no fairy tale.
IMDb Plot Synopsis: This modern retelling of the classic fairytale follows a beautiful college freshman as she pledges her late mother's once dignified sorority. But after discovering that today's sisterhood is not what it used to be, Sydney finds her new home away from home with seven outcasts. With the help of her socially challenged new friends, Sydney will take on the reigning campus queen to attempt to transform the school's misguided social hierarchy.

My Review: I decided I wanted some more Amanda Bynes comedy magic and found this oddity of a film. Based on Snow White, the film manages to make the classic work in the modern day, while making some subtle (and not so subtle) changes to the story to make it work. And it does.
However it is a plot full of cliches... but soppy, inspirational ones that work for a reason - because they’re classics! Bynes’ natural flair for comedy (along with the dysfunctional ‘seven dwarves’) helps pull the film out of horrendous into mildly enjoyable.
Aside from all the cheesiness this ‘modern adaptation’ does show signs of cleverness and is actually rather funny in places. Sure it’s not the most credible of films, but if you’re in the mood for a film that requires no effort to watch then this may be the one for you.

Score: 6.5/10
