  1. Its such a shame to end this show. i loved it and eagerly await the last series. good charachters and story's. played well with a slightly tongue in cheek feel. shame on the bbc for canceling it.

  2. The BBC has not cancelled it. The writer has said he will not do another. It's very sad. Great program.. Hopefully the BBC can convince him otherwise.

  3. I hope they find another writer. I'm in love with this show. Or give the current writer a raise!

  4. I also love Hustle and I'm sorry to hear this news. I live in a foregin country so I wonder why this program will no longer continue. And I wonder about empowerment of writers in UK. I mean, are they write freely in their drama?

I want to write a comment but I couldn't. So I'm writing this email.

I'll be looking forward to your reply.

  8. Found this show through HULU and absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!! I was impressed by the way the show floundered after Adrian Lester left and then returned in series 5 just as great. You could really see that he was the true leader of the group. The chemistry of this ensemble cast before and after series 4 was wonderful.. I would love to know the gossip behind the casting changes. Series 4 was clearly wrong w/o Adrian. I love that the Ash character stayed steady throughout. REALLY hate to see this show go b/c it is soooooo smart and fun!!

  9. I have just found this whilst looking up information about series 8. This is such bad news, series 7 still pulled in 6 - 7 million views, TV today is full of so much tripe they need to keep the quality. We are currently working through the box set 1 -6. We love the classic line up from the start but the later line up still works well. Looking forward to series 8.

  10. @snaffler - yeah it's really really sad. Why cancel it when it was still doing so well. I think they took the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" saying a little too far! But at least we have the boxsets to keep us going as well as the last series. Can't wait :)

  11. Really a shame to cancel what is probably the best TV show on screen these days. There's usually nothing but absolute crap on. I saw and loved Hustle from the First series to the 7th series. Looking forward to Series 8.

  12. It's an incredible shame. I live in Italy and I followed HUSTLE since the first moments to the 6th series that has been showed in Italy. I'm still waiting for the 7th and 8th series to be shown in italian TV...so I consider myself lucky to still have some other fresh time to spend with the most beautiful, intelligent and entertaining tv series of the last decade...! Hoping that the writer changes idea...!

  13. dont cancel it - such great viewing - makes a change from the dribble/violence etc on the telly these days - as we pay for the BBC via tv licence I think we ought to vote if it stays on !! KEEP the show GOING !!!

  14. My husband and I love Hustle. We were hooked from the first season. It is such a great show!!! I miss Stacy and Danny but season 5 turned out great... very fun and entertaining. It will be sad to see it go. I am looking forward to the final season. I really hope the writer will reconsider. This one of the best shows on television.

  15. A great shame and I'm sure it will be missed by loads of fans I have to say I think the show died a bit when Danny and Stacy left but the new team are OK it would be great to see Danny and Stacy come back for the last episode though!!!!!
KEEP HUSTLE ON, YOU KNOW IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!

  18. What a shame to lose such a well made programme. Funny, clever and a little cheeky. It was a programme that we could view as a family and all enjoy.
Maybe the bbc could commission another writer to do some more.

  19. This has to be one of my all time favourite shows. The actors were good and the clever and witty roles were a work of genius. I really hope that Hustle doesn't end, it is such a shame to loose a show that always had you on your toes. It was so fun to watch because you never knew what would happen next. It would be brilliant to have some more writers come along and give it a go.

    ReplyDelete
  20. From another American - I miss Hustle! Love the show, the writing, the characters, the wittiness of the show. PLEASE bring Hustle back. My Saturday nights are not the same.

  21. It's also great for a great tv show to end when it is still good... by the way i hope they will send off emma and mickey to the romance they deserve!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I regret that decision as well my friends. There are not many shows out there with that level of perfection. Actually I can think of one : Spooks... and that's getting the axe too as the thenth season will be the last. I'm so hungry of those classy, deep and smart shows for UK : keep them coming !

    ReplyDelete
  23. I cannot believe it. I love hustle and I don't want it to end, at least not after 8 seasons. I love British TV series and have followed them since I was very young. BBC please please don't end this show. This is Great TV show.

  24. I cannot believe it, I am very sad to hear that hustle is ending. I love this show and I don't want it to end. At least not after 8 seasons. I love British TV series and have followed them since I was very young. BBC please please don't end Hustle, please don't.

  25. I am only ten but I think I could nearly cry to here this.
Also bbc please please bring it back on

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is truly a shame, Hustle is such a fantastic show with so much wit, humour and suspense. I can't get enough! There is not much British television that can match what Hustle offers, don't cancel it! (Although if it is destined to end then it would be amazing to have Stacey and Danny back for one last thrill!)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Keep it going one of the best programmes on telly, why do all good things have to come to an end. Come on BBC sort it out hustle, waking the dead, silent witness all classics and all gone or going

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is a great loss to good TV drama, we have little in the way of good programs,; I hear that "Spooks" is also ending after it's 10th series. The US networks have a similar program called "Leverage" working to a similar formula, pretty close but not quite in the same league as "Hustle". In the meantime I hope that this final series will be something a bit special, just as the finale of "Ashes to Ashes".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Leverage is markedly different from hustle as all of their cons are altruistic rather than for their own benefit. All of the hustle team are grifters while Leverage's team each have distinct roles whether grifter, hitter, hacker, thief or brains. The mix of character roles works much better and makes more exciting cons. The bantering humour between the characters is also superb, making it infinitely more enjoyable. Pretty sure it has already exceeded the number of episodes hustle has and it's 5th season has now been syndicated by CBS.

  29. Gosh, yes, the Ashes to Ashes finale was pretty spectacular! I really hope they do the programme proud and end it with a bang!

  30. is it true? that hustle will not continue after season 8? i am disheartened.... i loved the show right from the beginning..... please continue the show......

  31. oh no really sad I love this show ..... i hope it continues .

  32. What a 'bombshell' shame on you BBC!! Commision another writer, bring back Danny & Stacey for a feature lenght film - EARN your lincence fee money, instead of most of the dribble you put out...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
y do they always cancell the best programs and leave the terrible ones airing.
bbc always make the worst decions!!!!!

  34. Surely there are a few more hustles out there to dream up? Mr Jordan PLEEEEASE don't chuck the towel in on this addictive series. It's not even near looking tired yet.......

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wont be sad to see it go actually. Series 1-3 were completely unmissable because Mickey and Danny completely owned it together and the episodes were clever.
Its gone more for comedy than style now where there used to be a balance and i prefer the old characters so id say its run its course.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree with you, Anon, above about Hustle going for comedy more than style over the past few series. Perhaps because it was fresh and exciting but the first few series did seem more serious, glamorous and gritty (but including the much needed humour). I don't, however, think that's a reason to cancel the show. Bring in some new writers, shake up the cast a bit. There's always something new to try!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Gutted.....its the best show the BBC has made in 20 years

    ReplyDelete
  38. Don t cansel it please. It is the best show ever!

  39. Hustle! No way, I don't live in the UK but look out for this series at all costs! Ok BBC, you ought to listen to the masses!

  42. I remember when I was young and this show started on Czech state channel. It was really well translated and beautifully dubbed into my language. This show has sharm, great actors, plot and especially soul. It makes me sad getting known that it is about to finnish. Anyway THANK YOU!

  44. i love this show as much as i don't want it to end i think it should go with the writer as it was at its best... i find that dr who last season wasnt that great and i think its down to it loosing Russel T Davis.....:( PLEASE KEEP GOING WRITER DUDE!

  45. Hustle is great TV. Dont cancel. I hope the series increases to 24 episodes a year.

Worst case let HBO or AMC, Starz (US) take over.

  50. Smart, clever writing. Great stories, brilliant acting. The best show on TV, please keep it going!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is an excellent show. Someone suggested that the BBC commission another writer, good idea. Or maybe convince the present writer to stay on, (I'm sure they've already done that). Whatever the outcome, please don't cancel it out of hand.

    ReplyDelete
  52. BBC KEEP DOING THIS, GET A GOOD PROGRAM LIKE HUSTLE OR SPOOKS THEN JUST AS IT BECOMES BOARDERLINE CULT, CUT IT! WHAT IS THERE PROBLEM???

    ReplyDelete
  53. Please please please continue to make this show.....i loved it...thrills and twists it gave in the end was a treat to watch....

    ReplyDelete
  54. Just watched the last episode..the one where they steal a Monet...brilliant

I ll be very disappointed when this ends

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hustle is still fun at the moment, and i'll be sad to see it go, but in the last few episodes, the twists have been getting either far-fetched or a little predictable. I think it's far better to end a series with a bang than let it fade away. if the writer thinks he's exhausted the show's potential it might be time to call it a day. Who's to say he won't come up with something even better if he has some time free?

    1. I agree, sad though it is to loose this show. I'm just in the throws of making an effort to read the last Dick Francis novel written by him AND his son and wonder if the son can continue the style of his father. If not, then he should steer clear of horse related novels. Hustle too shouldn't change it's writer - the formula works and, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Best to stop when it's on a high I think... I'll just dig out my box set and re-run the episodes when I need a Hustle fix (*_*)

  56. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! YOU CAN NOT DO THIS!!!
Friday nights were MADE for Hustle!
It's like having a bread and butter sandwich but without the bread and butter!
Why replace the best show in the world for some reality / X FACTOR - like rubbish!???
Hustle was one of the very few programs I watched and now...
    Goodbye cruel world...

  57. VERY unfair... Hustle needs to be commissioned again or someone needs to make something similar

  58. What a shame the BBC are jumping on the band wagon....states they ,ohhh bring thhe show back but with different characters...no doubt this means young plastic fake looking crappy characters ...think half of the shows appeal is exactly that they are not young and unrealistic but older matured and wiser characters I for one will hate it if they release a series 9 with dull new characters xstefx

    1. This has recently been done with Nikita... my daughter and I loved the original but I can't watch the new one which has different faces and plots and seems to be a glorified Mission Impossible with as many bangs and crashes as can be fitted into the amount of air time!! The original was far most subtle - we viewers were made to use our brains rather than watch our TV screen like zombies!!

  59. i love this show and look forward to it every year ! the bbc put crap on most of the time such as eastenders etc.., and when they have a really good show like hustle they show only 6 hours a year and then cancel it !! well it's not on and unfair - BBC get ur heads out the sand and start paying more attention to what your viewers wanna see !

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hustle is just simply 100% amazing, would be an absolute 'dissapointment! to not carry it on in the early future.. please bbc make it happen there will always be viewers watching, thanks.

  61. I've just seen the last episode and it didn't take a degree in rocket science to realise it was the last one. I've enjoyed watching Hustle from when the pilot was aired. A London girl born and bred and living (by choice) outside the UK since 1979, this series used to boost my spirits being shot mainly around the capital and my old stomping grounds. This aside, I loved the banter, characters and plots. I agree that without Adrian the show seemed a tad deflated but this is often the problem for many long running series (I can think of CSI Las Vegas for one and can see that ending soon) As much as I have enjoyed watching it, it's probably for the best that it goes out on a high. I'm not sure I agree about getting a different writer - has anyone spotted the differences with the old James Bond books as opposed to the ones NOT written by Ian Fleming? There is always a formula sought for the making of a good show and replacing the writer just won't work. Sad to see it finish but perhaps it's time for something new. As to the general garbage MOST TV stations churn out these days, I have to say I'm grateful to my ever growing film library as I'm heartily sick of cooking, dancing, singing/talent and lord help us this year with all the hype for the Olympics!!!

    1. I agree but they should keep the show going. I'm also and I think I speak for all the non-dummies when I say that there is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much reality, siging/dancing/talent shows, cooking, and especailyyyyy
      the Olympics this year.

  64. I have watched this series from the start and it's one of the one shows you can watch the same episode over and over again and still enjoy it.

I am disabled and never get to sleep until 4-5am and about 2 months ago my wife came down (I sleep downstairs) as she could'nt sleep and watched an episode with me, now she's hooked and I record them on Sky and we watch an episode every night. I've never known her like any series so much and then the BBC stop making them.

I used to enjoy Bugs!, Spooks, Hustle and can anybody remember a series called 'Danger UXB' and everyone has ended while they have a good following. Guess we'll just have to watch the repeats (need bugs back or repeats of it).

Who gets the feeling TV companies don't bother listening to the viewers about not stopping good series, that most of us like.

    Ian

  70. The BBC must be out of their minds - with the global financial crisis making things about as bad as they have been in 50 plus years why would the programming genius at work decide to pull off air a great show - next they will be after New Tricks an equally enjoyable show . Do they realise we loathe the crap most American producers serve up and when the people who actually turn on a TV set and watcha program say its great why kill it off - sheer madness .
