IMDb Plot Synopsis: Holly and Eric were set up on a blind date by their friends, Peter and Allison who are married. After Peter and Allison are killed in an accident, they learn that they have been named as the guardians to Peter and Allison's daughter, Sophie. So they move into their house and try their best to honor their friends' wishes. But raising a child puts a crimp on their style and they don't exactly get along...

My Review: I wasn’t expecting much from this film as it appeared to be a rather nondescript rom-com but after loving Katherine Heigl in Grey’s Anatomy and finding the DVD going cheap at a charity shop I decided to pick it up for a bit of light entertainment. I was not expecting something as hilarious and emotional and sincere. This is the best type of rom-com - where their is real emotion and obstacles and yet you can so clearly see that the two of them are meant to be together that the pay-off at the end is worth it. Heigl and Josh Duhamel play Holly and Eric, two mutual friends of a couple who dies in a car crash leaving their baby daughter into their care. Before the tragic accident the two of them couldn’t stand each other and it’s that fiery love/hate relationship that really powers this film - the chemistry is fantastic!
Through this stark journey they have to go through to become good parents overnight the two of them change drastically, for better and for worse. It’s a beautiful look at the two characters lives as they come to realise how important family is. It is so well done, so funny and romantic - it is definitely one of the best rom-coms I’ve seen in a while (and I watch alot of them)!

Score: 8.5/10
