Disturbing Behaviour

UK Release: 13th August 1999

IMDb Plot Synopsis: The new kid in town stumbles across something sinister about the town's method of transforming its unruly teens into upstanding citizens.

My Review: While Michelle Williams shone in Me Without You, my next venture into Creek Actress’ back-catalogue was less successful. I knew Katie Holmes had a bad rep. in some of her earlier work but she seemed sweet in First Daughter and so I had high hopes for Disturbing Behaviour as it was  genre I hadn’t seen her in before.
Unfortunately I think she should stick to the romance/comedy stuff as while she was fine as ‘sexy‘ Rachel in this the film was pretty dire and shows her decision making is not quite up to scratch when it comes to choosing good projects.
James Marsden was the only one holding the film together but only barely as the plot is completely laughable, doesn’t really pay-off and is dull throughout.
Trying to combine Horror and Science-Fiction is tricky at the best of times but without decent writing and direction this flails out of control and felt like a but of a mess.
It felt like the worst kind of trashy 90’s movie with little to no taste or credibility; so in my opinion, one to avoid!

Score: 1/5
