My Review: It’s Complicated was actually better than I was expecting which was almost entirely down to the chemistry between Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. You could absolutely tell that they were having a giggle making this film which added to the genera light-hearted and cheeky atmosphere which made this film so great to watch. It was genuinely funny but in a fresh, grown-up way as this wasn’t a generic rom-com; rather a contemporary take on the complicated nature of modern relationships, especially of the older generation.
But really, when it came down to it this film was not only about love but about family. John Krasinski (from The Office US) played the son-in-law who added a few more laughs into the equation and I thought he was the best of the ‘children’ characters.
So while it was nothing special it was a lovely idealistic and heart-warming film that was fun to curl up to on a rainy afternoon...
Score: 7/10
