Save Doctor Who Confidential!

After the announcement that Doctor Who Confidential would be axed last week the campaign to save it has stepped up. And now as the Petition to save it has almost reached 40,000 signatures I'm asking for your help to save this treasured show.
And here's why...
The show is relatively cheap to make - there are no cast members, sets, locations etc, just a small crew needed to film what goes on behind the scenes.
It has consistently good viewing figures for BBC3 and has a big fan base who love and adore the show, of which many (including myself) are inspired by it for their future career paths. The information and insight on set of a successful television programme is invaluable and there is nothing else like it on tv today.
I actually agree with those saying it is too long - it is. At 45 minutes it is the same length of the original programme. 15 minutes of good quality programming would be enough. Or if the BBC are determined for it not to be on our screens a low quality web series would just about suffice but nothing at all really would be devastating.
Cutting it all together - doesn't make sense!

Torchwood: Miracle Day - My Thoughts So Far

About 3 weeks ago I posted this video explaining my thoughts about the show. I will be doing a review of the whole season on here, but for now I just wanted to share with you my thoughts as they were 5 episodes in.
I still pretty much agree with them, except now only a couple episodes away from the end I think there has been so much more depth than I realised at the beginning of the season, as only now do we even know the 'Family' exist. I'm sort of glad that they haven't hinted at them from the beginning as it would have driven me crazy, but perhaps the season could have been condensed a little and better paced for it. But alas as an American co-production they presumably wanted to draw it out a little to fit in with American audiences more.
I just can't wait to find out what is behind the Miracle. And most importantly whether it doesn't disappoint!

I know this is like a week after broadcast but I put up my review on Tuesday discussing not only the finale but how I felt about the series as a whole. Hope you like it!

Sherlock - A Study in Pink

I am rather excited to be posting my first ever YouTube review video which I made a couple days ago.
In it, I review the first episode of Sherlock and look at the BBC DVD as a whole.
Stay tuned for more as I have a few more reviews lined up!

How To Walk

Here is one of many excellent 'How To' videos created by evmoneyTV, including 'How To Survive a Nuclear Blast', 'How To Watch A Movie' and 'How To Stand In Line'.
All are hilarious, but sweetly subtle and presented in the style of brilliant stick men!
Have a look...

Talking Pictures

An unusual, charming and fascinating video about a man's hobby: collecting old photographs.
This is his explanation: When I tell people I collect snapshots, I usually get a blank stare. So I made this video to help explain why I love them.
Watch and see why John Green (of the vlogbrothers) believes it is one of the best videos ever made...

Comic Relief is almost here and this year Red Nose Day is happening on Friday 18th March 2011.
As always the BBC have put on a spread of wonderfully varied fund-raising programmes to entice us all to donate.
Here are all of the highlights and more...

(My) empire state of mind

This is one of my favourite Elmify videos, where she visits New York.
It is a mix of the fantastic 'Thoughts from Places' series the Vlogbrothers do so well and Elmify's brilliant quirky charm.

Noah takes a photo of himself every day for 6 years

This is a pretty epic video. With over 18 million views Noah Kalina has received quite a bit of attention for this video and it's easy to see why.
Such an original concept - take a photo of yourself every day for 6 years.
And the result is fascinating as we watch his face, hair, beard... literally grow

Filmography 2010

This is one of the most beautifully put together montages I've ever seen. Pretty much every film from 2010 was put into this and it works wonderfully.
An incredible editor, genrocks is an inspiration...
And here she is talking about The Making of Filmography.
