Tagline: Anna planned to propose to her boyfriend on February 29th. This is not her boyfriend.
IMDb Plot Synopsis: A woman who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged.
A Quick Review: I haven’t watched a more cliched, cringeworthy film in a long time and yet the fact that I stayed up waaay late to finish watching it... doesn’t mean it’s a good film, but just that I’m a soppy girl at heart! Seriously, the irish (and British) stereotypes are just awful, the storyline wildly predictable and the whole thing just a giant cheese fest but I suppose it does the trick if you’re looking for a no-brain power required rom-com. Amy Adams and Matthew Goode are cute (although his accent while ‘typical’ irish - and really rather sexy - was a little strained at times) and Ireland looks beautiful, but if you’re looking for some credibility you won’t find it here! But sometimes this may be just what you need...
Oh and if you’re noticing a completely obvious pattern of horrendously cheesy rom-coms of late it’s because they are the only thing keeping me sane during revision - only a week and a bit to go and I can get back to some more credible and review worthy films!
Score: 6/10
