Genre: Drama, Romance

Tagline: A husband. A wife. A millionaire. A proposal

My Review: With an interesting premise that reeled me in from the first scene, Indecent Proposal had a promising start. It had a great hazy and intense atmosphere throughout, yet it still had a slight awkwardness as there was a bit of a lack of chemistry between the leads.
Demi Moore, however, was brilliant and I can finally see her as an actress now and not just Ashton Kutcher’s older ex-wife. But there’s just something about the film - as addictive as it is - it doesn’t quite get the tone right. I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable, just something jarred. Perhaps because it was quite unbelievable. If any real couple were ‘proposed’ to like that I don’t think they’d react in that way in the slightest. And that might be the root of the problem here - they weren’t a realistic couple. No-one I’ve ever heard or seen of act that way. Thus it was doomed somewhat as it was hard to fully connect with the characters. It’s a shame as it was such a strong concept - it just could have been done better.
Score: 7.5/10
