He is about to fly home from Atlanta when his luggage and wallet are sent to LA without him, and he is put on the "no-fly" list. Desperate to get home Peter is forced to accept the offer of Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) to hitch a ride with him cross-country. Peter is about to go on the most terrifying and agonizing journey of his life.
My Review: Due Date is a smart comedy for the 21st century and completely unexpected. I had hoped this would be funny and the trailers were amusing but I wasn’t prepared for how gut wrenchingly funny this movie would be! Both Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis were on fire and had fantastic chemistry that just riffed off of one another, thanks not only to their acting talents but also to the script - this film has to be one of the most quotable films of recent times!
Their bromance is the centre piece of the movie and works very, very well. The soundtrack was superb and the movie was surprisingly moving proving that good comedy can have heart too.
100% unpredictable from start to finish, Due Date was one hell of a ride!
Score: 8.5/10
