Being Human: S4 Ep2 - Being Human 1955

On TV: Sunday 12th February 2012
Channel: BBC Three 9pm
Episode Type: 2/8

In 1 Sentence: A better attempt but not quite back to its former glory yet...

BBC Summary: Three visitors - a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost - travel from afar in the hope that baby Eve is the Saviour and can perform a miracle.

My Review: While last week was pretty amusing this week it was laughs galore and thus a lack of the darker stuff which was what made me fall in love with the show in the first place. There’s no romance to be seen, except for a sweet side-plot at the end of this episode, and instead there is an uncomfortably huge emphasis on religion. It’s all a bit messy at the moment and there are one too many things wrong with the details. How can Annie own the house when she’s a ghost for instance?
But technicalities aside, it was hilarious - even it was a little sentimental. I still enjoyed it and there were a few scenes that gives me hope for the rest of the series such as Hal and Tom visiting a shop in town. Also I’m still loving Andrew Gower who is consistently good as part of the ‘evil’ vampire group out to kill Eve.
All in all it has potential to be better so lets hope it becomes so!
Score: 8/10
