IMDb Plot Synopsis: THE NEXT GIRL I SEE is a comedy that shows us that love has nothing to do with perfection. After losing the woman of his dreams, Anderson is convinced he'll never fall in love again. But at the urging of his best friend, he spontaneously proposes to a dissatisfied waitress named Katie and an innocent dare evolves into the kind of love that both have been looking for all along.
My Review: Wedding Daze is simply absolutely ridiculous, but in an incredibly hilarious way! It began with Jason Biggs dressed as Cupid in tiny red pants, so I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. But then things took a brilliant turn when just as he proposes to his ‘perfect’ girlfriend she keels over and dies. Obviously she was far from perfect, but Anderson thought girls couldn’t get any better than that and so, for the next year or so, goes into a deep depression which Biggs does excellently, making you really emphasis with the character. But when Isla Fisher turned up - that’s when the film really got started! She is just such a fine comedic actress, it’s hard not to love every film she’s in. Biggs and Fisher have a brilliant, awkward chemistry that really makes the fantastic concept of two strangers marrying for the hell of it just work.
It did, unfortunately spiral into a bit of a farce towards the end with the supporting cast all having their funny plot threads, but by that point you think to hell with quality let’s just have a laugh. And this film does just that - it is funny.
And was just what I needed in the run up to Christmas: a sweet, funny, fun comedy!
Score: 7/10
