My Review: Day After Tomorrow is one of the ultimate modern disaster movie and is my favourite of the ‘global warming’ variety. The special effects are brilliant, but there is also an emotional undercurrent provided mainly by Jake Gyllenhaal and his friends.
There are moments that are pretty tense too. I remember when I was younger being terrified by the wolves scene on the ship. The fatal frost that creeps over the city is also pretty scary and beautifully done.
If you’re in need of a disaster epic then this is a good one. It makes you think about the world and the way we live which is necessary every now and then.
And it helps that the gorgeous Jake Gyllenhaal is in it too!
Score: 6/10
