IMDb summary: As children, Ruth, Kathy and Tommy, spend their childhood at a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. As they grow into young adults, they find that they have to come to terms with the strength of the love they feel for each other, while preparing themselves for the haunting reality that awaits them.
This film is without a doubt, my most anticipated film of the year.
Since reading the book by Kazuo Ishiguro over the summer I completely fell for the story, the characters, the writing: the whole book.
And once I found out Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield were involved i was ecstatic as I knew this beloved book was in extra special hands.
Like everyone, in October, I saw The Social Network and was blown away by it, especially Andrew Garfield so I’m very pleased that he stars as Tommy, who is such an interesting character; as are all 3 of the stars.
Anyone who hasn’t read the book, i urge you to as it is truly one of those one-off, take-your-breath-away books.
And I urge you even more so to watch the film, I just hope it lives up to my expectations!

Wow, another of my favourite books being adapted into a film, I really do hope I’m not too disappointed by them both!
One Day was an incredible book so I expect no less of the film. Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess star as Emma and Dexter who we visit, each day, over the course of about 20 years. The funny, clever and touching book will hopefully translate to an equally beautiful film, which I absolutely cannot wait to see.
