A Quick Review: The Butterfly Effect was an odd film to watch. It had a great concept which intrigued me from the beginning and I loved the sci-fi/supernatural elements, but the bad acting from Ashton Kutcher, the terrible pacing towards the end and just the climax in general meant the film didn’t really work for me.
It’s quite an uncomfortable film to watch actually as, while I am a great lover for the dark stuff this wasn’t dark but just twisted and actually pretty depressing. It was, admittedly, very dramatic and you never really know what’s coming but the sudden and unsatisfactory ending let it down.
I would still recommend it if it sounds like your thing, but it’s a shame it wasn’t better as it had a lot of potential to be a brilliant film...
